USF 2007 Football Schedule

USF To Open 2007 Big East Football Schedule at Home Against West Virginia

-- Bulls to have a minimum of two national television appearances TAMPA, FLA. (February 1, 2007) --

If the thrill of USFs 24-19 win over seventh-ranked West Virginia last November in Morgantown left fans wanting more, they won't have to wait long for the 2007 rematch. USF will host the Mountaineers to open its 2007 Big East schedule, September 29 in Raymond James Stadium. That rematch and two nationally televised games - one at SEC powerhouse Auburn and one at Rutgers in a Thursday night contest - are among the highlights of the USF schedule released by the Big East office today.

Prior to USFs Big East opener with the Mountaineers, the Bulls open the season with three of their five non-conference games, including the nationally televised game at Auburn September 8. The Bulls open the season at home, September 1 against Elon.

The Big East opener with West Virginia will have a nice home bookend in November, when the Bulls play their final home contest of the year against the Big East defending champion Louisville Cardinals, November 17. That game precedes the Bulls regular season finale, November 24 at Pittsburgh.

USF returns 17 of the 22 players who started in the Bulls 2006 Papajohns.com Bowl win over East Carolina, including nine on defense and eight on offense. Among the top players returning are sophomore quarterback Matt Grothe, who was the Big East Rookie of the Year in 2006, and cornerback Trae Williams, who led the Big East and tied for eighth in the nation with seven interceptions.

Season tickets for USF football start at $129 and may be purchased by phone at 1-800-GoBulls.
